WE24 FAQs

WE24 STARTS IN

  • How do I add my resume to the SWE Career Center?

For those attending WE24, you may upload your resume and tag that you are attending WE24 so that WE24 exhibitors (all of whom have access to our Career Center) can find your resume and set up interviews. Download the steps to upload your resume and tag WE24.

  • What will security look like at WE24?

At WE24, SWE will ban firearms or weapons of any kind from entering the McCormick Place Convention Center for the duration of the event.

During this time, all doors to the Center will be locked, and entry will be permitted only through designated entrances.

All those entering the McCormick Place Convention Center will be subject to security measures, including metal detectors and bag checks, and security canines will be present. SWE reserves the right to refuse entry to those who do not cooperate with these safety protocols. As in the past, a mix of armed and non-armed security professionals will help monitor doors and checkpoints.

  • What are the discounts for university faculty and staff and/or section faculty advisors and counselors?

For every five (5) students who register at a university, SWE will provide one (1) complimentary registration for a university faculty or staff person to attend WE24. If a university faculty or staff person registers before confirming the attendance of the required number of students, SWE will refund their registration cost with no fee.

Email [email protected] to verify registrations and receive discount codes for faculty and staff.

  • Where is WE24 located?

WE24 will be held in person on Oct. 24–26, 2024, at the McCormick Place Convention Center, West Building at 2310 E. Cermak Rd., Chicago, IL 60616.

  • Does SWE accommodate dietary restrictions?

We are unable to accommodate special dietary needs at our sit-down collegiate luncheons; however, we will have options available that are gluten-free and vegetarian/vegan (no dairy) at these events. SWE does collect dietary restriction information for special event meals. No beef, pork, or seafood will be served.

  • Is membership included with my registration?

Membership is not included with your registration, but can be added during checkout. Please see our registration page for more information.

  • What information is available for accepted speakers?

Accepted speakers who confirm participation in a WE24 session will receive various WE24 speaker resources, including the WE Speaker Toolkit and a WE24 PPT template.

  • How can I access the WE24 app?

The WE24 app will be available in August 2024.

  • Is housing available specifically for collegiate section presidents for WE24?

Due to low usage, SWE is not offering collegiate section president housing for WE24.

  • What sort of disability access is there for WE24?

SWE works to ensure that we are responding to all special needs and providing all disability support services requested to the best of our ability.

For in-person attendees at WE24, SWE will provide mobility scooters on-site and ensure the facility is accessible. We can also provide CART (communication access real-time translation) service upon request. Requests must be submitted by Sept. 15 to guarantee facilitation.

Each year, SWE works to ensure that the SWE Annual Conference website is ADA-compliant to the best of our ability.

  • How do I book a hotel for WE24?

All those attending are responsible for their own hotel accommodations and reservations. SWE is not responsible for booking or managing hotel reservations for WE24 attendees, exhibitors, or guests. Direct requests to SWE for hotel rooms will be denied.

SWE strongly recommends using the onPeak hotel block and booking as early as possible to avoid higher fees or a shortage of room nights. By late summer, hotel options are typically limited for our events, and attendees should plan accordingly.

SWE will not prepay for hotel accommodations for those who do not meet the criteria set by individual hotels (with regard to the age of the guest or preferred credit card accepted).

  • How do I register if I am from Nigeria?

SWE’s credit card processor for WE24 registration does not accept most credit cards from Nigeria. This is out of SWE’s control and is in the hands of the credit card processor.

SWE is pleased to offer a flat registration rate of $100 per person for attendees from low—and middle-income countries. Existing discounts do not apply to this registration type.

To register for WE24, there are two options:

    • Prior to Oct. 15: A Nigerian resident may acquire a domiciliary card linked to an account that holds USD of their own accord. Then, email [email protected] to request an invoice for registration, pay SWE directly, and receive a code to register for WE24. Attendees must pay in full by Oct. 15 to receive a code to register in advance.
    • After Oct. 15: A Nigerian resident must first request a registration balance (at the discounted rate of $100) be placed on their registration account to be paid on site. Payment must then be made on site via prepaid Visa or Mastercard gift card with the amount needed for registration. If you are from Nigeria and are planning to attend WE24, please email [email protected] and ask that an early bird registration be created to pay on site with a prepaid major credit card. You may also register by calling +1 774-247-4026.
    • SWE will not accept cash payments for registration on-site at WE24.
  • What can I expect in the nursing room?

SWE is pleased to provide safe, clean, and private spaces at WE24 for parents to express breast milk or feed their infant. SWE will provide comfortable chairs next to electrical outlets, bottled water, and snacks. Mini-fridges will also be provided. Parents should plan to bring their own pumps and accessories.
